Job Description

Bouygues E&S is looking for an Operations Manager to join the team here in Hoddesdon, working from a key Energy from Waste power Station.

Job Purpose and Scope:

The Operations Manager fulfills a senior role within the site management team, and is responsible for all aspects of the safe, compliant, and efficient Operation of the Hoddesdon Advanced Thermal Treatment facility.

Key Tasks and Activities
,- Implementation of Bouygues Health, Safety and Environmental Management systems, to deliver and maintain high standards across all Operations department activities.
,- Management of the site safe System of Work as defined by the Bouygues ATT Safety Rules
,- Compliance with, and performance of, designated safe System of Work responsibilities as defined by the Bouygues Safety Rules
,- Lead role in site Safety forums, including procedure and Safety System reviews on a periodic basis.
,- Provision of leadership, direction, management and personal development to the Operations team.
,- Build and maintain a team working culture, where team members can and want to develop and contribute to their full potential.
,- Lead and ensure close Operations/Maintenance team co-operation in the development, implementation and use of the site CMMS.
,- Lead the development, delivery and ongoing review/revision of the facility Safe Operating Procedures.
,- Strategic and day to day management, supervision, planning, and co-ordination of departmental activities, in close co-operation with the Maintenance teams, to deliver maximum plant availability, flexibility and overall performance.

Essential & desirable criteria:

Essential
,- Detailed knowledge and understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental
legislation relevant to steam powered electricity generation.
,- Detailed knowledge and experience of Electricity Supply Industry standard
Safe Systems of work, Safety Rules and Permit for Work Systems.
,- Minimum of HNC in a relevant Engineering discipline.
,- Minimum of five years supervisory experience in an Operations and
engineering function, related to steam powered electricity generation.
,- Detailed knowledge of and experience in the principles and operation of
process plant related to steam powered electricity generation.
,- Experience of working in a technically challenging and value driven culture.
,- Computer literate
,- Must be a highly credible leader, with strong leadership qualities,
exceptional organisational and interpersonal skills: able to engage in and
develop successful long term employee and industrial relations.
,- Skilled and experienced in the delivery of measurable results through
others, with the proven ability to select, build, develop and inspire strong
teams.
,- Flexible and performance driven, with the commitment, determination and
resilience to deliver added value to operational performance.
,- The ability to communicate and influence effectively, and work
collaboratively, at all levels.
,- The ability to effectively manage third parties.

Desirable:

,- Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering degree, and Membership of
an appropriate Engineering institution.
,- NEBOSH or IOSH qualification.
,- Experience of mass burn Energy from Waste.
,- Experience in the identification and delivery of change programmes that
have a positive impact on operational and business requirements.
