M&E Site Manager

Bouygues UK - Canning Town

Job Purpose and Scope
In this role you will provide to provide a consistent and reliable service to site teams across various  Bouygues-UK Businesses. You will be involved in advising and informing the Head of Building Services, about key issues of concern. Furthermore your responsibilities will be to ensure that all Mechanical, Electrical and PH work undertaken on site safely whilst maintaining quality, cost and programme deadlines.     

Accountabilities and Key Tasks:

  • Attend weekly meetings with the Site Team & MEP Contractors to review issues and schedule forthcoming activities in line with the BSIRA job book.
  • Monitor/report Contractor's programme, progress and delivery along with Contractor's procurement and labour schedules.
  • Review Method/Risk/Health& Safety statements. 
  • Prepare and follow Testing and Commissioning programme and progress.
  • Ensure RFI schedules and design work progress are monitored and updated.
  • Quality management of MEP installation instigating testing and inspection plans.
  • Carry out cost checks on M&E design proposals and escalate serious deviations appropriate.
  • Manages & monitors subcontractors.
  • Liaison and management of M&E subcontractors.
  • Produce Risk and Opportunity schedules.
  • Ensure that tenders received from subcontractors are in accordance with the required specifications and assist the company's development regarding the bidding/supply chain.
  • Deliver M&E aspects in relation to the authorised budgets and optimising cost and quality.
  • Monitor/Coordinate and control the flow of M&E design information to ensure the timely release of information for construction activities.
  • Ensure that the clients' requirements are correctly interpreted and taken account of till the completion of the M&E design with particular focus on budget.

Who we are looking for:


  • Relevant Building Services qualification (preferably Electrical) with appreciation and understanding of both disciplines
  • Experience working with a main contractor or large subcontractor
  • Previous experience of overseeing subcontractors
  • Familiar with legal requirements including BS and HTM standards
  • Able to handle multiple tasks at once
  • Strong attention to detail
