The role of Health, Safety, Environmental and quality Manager
We are looking for an enthusiastic, competent and experienced Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Manager, who has previously worked in drainage, utilities, waste or construction industry looking to join a well-established drainage/service company. You will be responsible for managing all Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality and environmental concerns within the Group, working closely with the HR, Transport and Rail divisions, the role reports into the Operations and Utilities Director. This role is based in Manchester with frequent UK travel.
Proactively promote HSEQ, Occupational Health, Security, GDPR, Transport, Training, Business Continuity etc, providing best practice throughout the group
Develop and implement a HSEQ strategy and plans to support the annual business plan and long term strategy
Be the organisations representative in its dealings with outside bodies, e.g Health and Safety Executive, Environment Agency, ISO certification bodies, Accreditation Bodies, contractors, insurers and brokers ensuring accreditations are achieved and maintained
Maintain systems for measuring and monitoring HSEQ performance, providing statistical summaries for the Directors, Senior Managers, HSEQ management meetings, site safety inspections / audits identifying and significant trends and occurrences and ensuring improvement actions are shared throughout the group
Provide professional health safety environmental, quality, security, occupational health advice, coaching, mentoring, training and education to managers/supervisors/H&S team/workforce and contractors where identified as necessary
Rail, PTS, Sentinel control/interfaces
Arrange and monitor drug and alcohol testing
Management of contractors approval, monitor and review
Skills and experience
Previous experience of managing a team
Degree (or equivalent) qualified in Occupational Health Safety, Environmental, and Quality with chartered membership of IOSH (CIMIOSH) as a minimum
Detailed knowledge of ISO standards 9001, 14001, 45001, 27001, 22301
Driven pro-active attitude to work
Creating and promoting a culture of Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental Quality etc.
Chairing HSEQ Monthly meetings
Previous experience of working in drainage/utilities/construction/Waste/Transport industries
