Appointment Type: Full-time, permanent Working hours: 35 hours per week, usually 9am-5pm. However, some flexible working will be required Location: Cathedral Centre, 3 Ford Street, Salford, M3 6DP Salary, pension, and benefits: £41,200 - £50,645 per annum, dependent on skills and experience, 25 holidays plus bank holidays and 5 Diocesan closure days, employers pension scheme.
About: The Diocese of Salford is seeking to recruit a suitability experienced individual to provide professional advice, guidance and leadership in relation to health and safety throughout the diocese. The role will be pivotal to fostering and developing our safety culture to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and welfare for all those involved who work for and encounter the Church as part of our mission. The role is both hands on and strategic given that some of the work is carried out by volunteers.
What we are looking for: A minimum of five years’ practical experience as a professional within the field of Health and Safety with the ability to develop and co-ordinate the implementation of Health & Safety policies and procedures throughout the diocese. The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to advise diverse groups with various levels of knowledge and experience in matters relating to health and safety policies and protocols.
What you will need:
- NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health (or equivalent).
- Experience of co-ordinating health and safety across multiple locations.
- Competence to create and develop a health and safety infrastructure across the organisation.
- A sound working knowledge of health and safety legislation.
- Ability to influence and promote a positive health and safety culture.
- Willingness to work within an organisation which has a religious ethos.
