As Group Health Safety Manager and Environmental reporting directly to our COO and based at our Group Head Office in Canterbury, you'll be working with the Group and business units to develop Group H&S strategy and business plans that lead to zero incidents and to develop an industry-leading H&S culture throughout the Group. This will entail sourcing best practice from lead bodies and other external sources and implementing them effectively. Reporting at board level on key issues and progress against strategy, you'll assess new laws and regulations and advise on their implementation within the company. In addition to providing functional advice and expertise to business-based H&S Lead Managers and H&S records owners, you'll also:
- Together with HR, develop behavioural-based Alive and Well programme(s)
- Train and coach managers in key H&S responsibilities
- Manage H&S management IS System with timely and accurate data
- Monitor compliance to our Environmental System and Standards
- Manage the completion of statutory environmental data
Ideally degree-qualified or NEBOSH Diploma, you're a proven, senior-level H&S practitioner with an impressive, blue-chip track record, including strategic delivery. Committed to continuously improving standards, you keep abreast of the latest industry news, technology and challenges. Whilst highly effective at a strategic level, you're equally as comfortable operating tactically when required; so you enjoy being hands-on, highly visible and engaging at every level.
