Our client is a 10 year old technical service company based in South West London and has five key technical areas of business function:- Technical Safety, Operational Technology, OT Cyber Security, Engineering and Consultancy. They provide technical services across the full life-cycle of industrial assets across Oil & Gas and the Utilities sectors.
Due to continued growth our sister company is seeking an experienced Functional Safety Engineer - Owner's Engineer to work as an embedded engineer at their client's site near Rochester, Kent. The site is a COMAH LNG storage plant supplying 40% of the UK's gas supply. The Functional Safety Consultant will work as an owners' engineer for our client in their technical team, providing specialist functional safety consultancy and engineering works across a portfolio of site projects (£20k to £2million) through the full project lifecycle, from pre-feasibility to delivery. Lagoni also provide Control & Instrumentation engineering and realisation support to this Client.
Their Client is embarking on a one of the largest EPC undertaking to double their capacity which will provide for exposure to very exciting projects and challenges.
Participation in safety workshops such as HAZID, HAZOP, CHAZOP
Update to SIL target calculation
Update to SIL verification calculations
Support to implementation of Functional Safety management activities
Support in internal change management process
Attend client meetings and proactive identification of client requirements
Workflow across functional teams including control & instrumentation engineering teams, internally and client-side.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Demonstrable excellent written and spoken communication and reasoning skills
Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role
Holds a relevant Bachelor's degree or Master's.
Knowledge of safety standards IEC 61511
Experience within oil, gas or energy industries
Awareness of process operations and/or brownfield modifications
TÜV Functional Safety certification
Awareness of environmental, Physical Hazard Effects (PHE) modelling
Team/project Management experience
Experienced in working to CDM regulations and/or COMAH regulations
