Bouygues E&S are seeking to appoint a Environmental and Contract Compliance Manager to support our Energy from Waste facility in Hoddesdon.

Role Purpose:
The Environmental and Contract Compliance Manager performs a key role, in conjunction with, and as a key influencer of, the site management teams at the Belfast and Hoddesdon Advanced Thermal Treatment facilities, in the development and delivery of Best in Class performance in all matters relating to the Environmental, Contractual and Regulatory responsibilities relating to the facilities.

,- To be the subject expert in all matters relating to the operational Environmental Permits and Consents relating to the Belfast and Hoddesdon Advanced Thermal Treatment facilities, including the development, delivery and timely submission of all reports relating to those Permits and Consents.
,- To be the subject expert in all matters relating to compliance with the Duty of Care and Waste Management Legislation relating to both facilities.
,- To be the subject expert in all matters relating to the O&M Contracts for the Belfast and Hoddesdon Advanced Thermal Treatment facilities, including the development, delivery and timely submission of all reports relating to those Contracts.
,- To provide Environmental, Quality and Energy Management system leadership across all activities at the Belfast and Hoddesdon Advanced Thermal Treatment facilities: this to include development, and in conjunction with the site management teams delivery, of the staff training necessary to ensure that the entire staff team at both sites is aware of and delivering all aspects of their respective site Environmental Permit and O&M Contracts.
,- To act as the main point of contact with statutory bodies, regulators, clients and neighbours relevant to the facility, and to liaise with regulators and clients as required: building positive and constructive relationships, presenting the organisation in a positive, professional and appropriate way at all times.
,- Assist in the development and delivery of best practice site procedures and management systems, in Compliance with all relevant Legislation, site Environmental Permits and Licences, Bouygues standards, and Industry Best Practice: to include administration, auditing and reporting.
,- Act as a focus for all site Environment issues, liaising closely with central Bouygues HSQE teams to ensure best practice.
,- Assist the Plant Managers with investigations into environmental incidents to identify root causes and recommendations for improvement.
,- Acting as audit lead to ensure that the site management teams are fully prepared for all internal and external audits relating to ISO and Contractual aspects.
,- Carry out site inspections and audits to assess compliance with Bouygues environmental standards and make recommendations for improvement.

Desirable & Essential Criteria:

,- Degree qualified in a related Environmental, Engineering or Chemistry discipline.
,- Significant experience of and technical qualifications relating to heavy process plant operation.
,- Knowledge on Air Emissions reporting is probably one of the most important points in the permit to grasp.
,- Preparing for CEMS audits carried out by the EA/NIEA (checking procedures, records etc.) - CEMS knowledge essential.
,- The ability to understand and interpret the Environmental Permit in detail is a key requirement of the role. Communication with the regulator representatives for each site requires an individual with a a (very) detailed knowledge of the Environmental Permit and associated guidance, and who is open-minded, confident, comfortable to challenge interpretation and willing to question the status-quo.
